Like many of you, I'm desperate for any nuggets of information I can find on the upcoming Animal Crossing: Jump Out for the Nintendo 3DS. The game is due out in November, when we will know everything, but for now, I'll take what I can get. Neogaf user Streets Ahead compiled some factoids, and here are the highlights:
- There's apparently a Reset Management Center that you place in your town, and Mr. Resetti will show up after you've done it. My question is, can you opt out of that? Because Mr. Resetti is obnoxious, and I'd actually rather not have him show up!
- Brewster's Coffee Shop is separate from the museum now, and you can build it and work there part-time if you like. It sounds like some of the shops might be optional, which is cool, because it will help distinguish your town from your friends'. Of course, I'm going to want everything, so it's probably going to get really crowded. The museum will also have planned exhibitions aside from the permanent exhibits that you supply for them. Oh, and Blather's sister will be running a Museum Shop. No idea what it sells, though!
- Speck Shop seems to be taking the place of Tom Nook's store, and is run by twin tanookis. It sounds similar, selling stuff for your home, and growing as time goes by into bigger and bigger stores, but a lot of what Nook sold is now being split up into other shops. Tom Nook now runs Nook Housing, and sells stuff to decorate your abode that changes daily. There's now a separate flower shop run by Reiji, who is a lazy sloth who may not actually be in the shop (LOVE!).
- Shank the Skunk runs a shoe store, and Lisa the llama runs a recycling shop. I guess that's Shank in the city doing the shoe shines, so it's nice to see him moving up in the world. And does the recycling shop take the place of the recycling bin in town hall?
- You can have picnics complete with blankets and baskets, and build campgrounds, bridges, wells, jungle gyms, and benches. You can eat ice cream and drink coffee outdoors now. I love that they're continuing to add more and more details that make this game more realistic.
- There's a bunch of new villagers to add to the returning characters, but I'm most excited about the new personality: "Smug." They talk indirectly, but act like a gentleman. They might be my new favorite!
- I think my favorite thing is that your first act as mayor is to plant a tree, and it grows as your city does. If this town is anything like my City Folk one, that's gonna be one massive tree!
